When we unfortunately have a sprain, we can refer to the 48-hour limit standard. We judge the time within 48 hours as the acute stage of injury. During this period, we need to apply ice water and ice towels to the affected skin by cold compress to reduce the speed of blood circulation and reduce the degree of exudation, bleeding and inflammation, so as to achieve the effect of reducing swelling, pain and injury.

After 48 hours, we can change the cold compress to the hot compress. This is because after the cold compress, the phenomenon of capillary bleeding in the affected area has basically stopped, and the swelling has gradually improved. At this time, the hot compress treatment can help promote blood circulation, accelerate the absorption of skin tissue stasis and exudate, so as to achieve the purpose of promoting blood swelling, relieving collateral and relieving pain.
