1. Poor fitness results
The main reasons that affect the fitness effect are running slope and motor power.
1) Slope
Most people feel very relaxed when running on flat ground, and need to continue for a long or long distance to achieve the fat burning effect. If you run on an incline, the body’s gravity will multiply, and the body needs to output more power to move forward, so 40 minutes of incline running is equivalent to 1 hour of flat running.
However, most of the current slope of the treadmill is relatively small, mostly 2-4 degrees, so that the slope and the fitness effect of running on the flat is not particularly large, I recommend that you choose a higher slope model, so the fitness effect will be better.
2) Motor power
The motor can be said to be the core of the treadmill, in theory, the greater the motor power, the faster the speed of the treadmill, the higher the user’s fitness ceiling.
In addition, the motor is also the main source of noise, and the small brands are mostly miscellaneous motors, without saying that the power is false, the noise and life are not guaranteed. So I recommend that you enter the big brand models, these brands use more big motor, comfort and security will be better.
2. Restricted running form
Many running friends who have just started the treadmill have mentioned a problem, that is, running on the treadmill always feels very uncomfortable, and the running posture will become uncoordinated, in fact, this is mainly caused by the narrow running belt of the treadmill.
Running belt is too narrow will make people pay too much attention to avoid stepping empty and adjust the running posture, resulting in more uncomfortable running, incorrect running posture will also cause wear and tear of the body joints. Most people’s shoulder width is 42-47CM, so the width of the running belt needs to be more than 50CM, so that it will not hinder the arm swing when running. But it is not the wider the better, although the wider running belt can make the running posture more free and comfortable, but the area is also larger. So my suggestion is to choose a model with a running belt width according to the user’s shoulder width, and 50CM width should be suitable for most people.
3. Knee injury
There are several reasons why running is easy to injure the knee, such as running for too long, running incorrectly and insufficient shock absorption. The first two are relatively simple to solve, but cushioning is not enough to rely on a good pair of running shoes alone, so most treadmills will have cushioning technology, which can not only reduce the risk of knee injury, but also increase the sense of foot and run more comfortably.
Common cushioning technologies are as follows:
① Silicone shock absorption: This kind of shock absorption is the most equipped model, the principle is to place a number of silicone columns under the running belt, using the softness of silicone to play a shock absorption effect, the shock absorption effect is medium.
② buffer bag shock absorption: it can also be called air shock absorption, the principle is the same as the principle of the air bag of some running shoes, the shock absorption effect will be softer than the silicone column, but when it comes to users with higher weight, they will be powerless and have insufficient support.
③ Spring shock absorption: the reaction force is much stronger than the silicone column, and the foot feeling will be relatively hard, I personally don’t like this way.
None of the above shock-absorbing methods are perfect, so most brands will combine 2 or 3 technologies, and my advice is to try to choose models with multiple shock-absorbing technologies.
4. Exercise is boring
In fact, many people like outdoor running because they want to see different scenery, so some big brands will add a real scene function in the APP, so that users can look at the scenery in the APP while running, and increase the fun of running. But many low-end models not only have no special courses, even the training courses are more perfunctory, they gradually make people not interested, running and running, and eventually become the large drying rack in everyone’s mouth.
