It is well known that running is good for your health.
But why? We have the answer.
Cardiovascular System
Running, especially at a low heart rate, trains the cardiovascular system, allowing it to pump more blood throughout the body with one heartbeat.
Lungs
The body gets a better blood supply, and oxygenated (as well as oxygen-poor) blood can be transported more efficiently throughout the body. Due to the increased blood flow, new alveoli are formed in the lungs (responsible for gas exchange), and the body becomes more efficient.
Running is a Mental Exercise
The uneven ground, the moving environment, the speed, every movement must be coordinated when running. Brain activity increases, leading to brain growth and the formation of new neural pathways. In addition, the connection between short-term and long-term memory becomes stronger, and you become more focused, more efficient, and more memorable. This is one of the reasons why running is recommended as an effective preventive measure for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Running is a Mental Exercise
Running trains muscles, ligaments and bones, thereby improving the stability of the body. Therefore, running is a classic full-body exercise.
